Original REB charger question
Hi All,
I am trying to resurrect my reader, which is an original Rocket eBook Reader by nuvomedia. I have to make my own charger from bits i have, but can anyone confirm the voltage and amps I should be using, please? I know the REB 1100 uses 12V at 1000 mA, but would mine be the same as this? Thanks for any info you can give. -- Knightshifter. |

You want the equivalent of the Radio Shack 273-358 (old number, 273-1775) 12VDC 1500ma adapter with Adaptaplug A 273-334. Make sure you plug the tip in so the the tip is positive. I mark it with a sharpie so I can see at a glance if it's right. The adapter will set you back $25 or so and the tip is free with purchase.
If you have enough bits and pieces laying around, or are overseas since this one is 120VAC input, you want a regulated 12 volts, at least 1000ma and a O.D. 2.35mm by I.D. 0.7mm center positive tip. This combo works on Original Rockets, 1100's and 1150's. Michael |
