Rating column keeps reappearing

I hide the Rating column and every so often it shows again. Is there some way to prevent this or is it a bug that should be fixed?

Mine has been hidden since forever.

When it pop back, what had you just done? I believe Column show/noshow is part of the DB. Switching Libraries, would need that ALSO set to hide

Not seen it since I banished it on day two of using calibre, with one exception - I show it in my Test library, which I switch in and out of frequently.

However, I control what columns I see with the View Manager plugin, occasionally I right click the headers to show a column I don't normally see - such as modified date and size, but not rating.

Off hand I can't even think of a key sequence to toggle show/hide a specific column in the book list.

Afterthought : what about metadata downloading, could that trigger it (wouldn't have thought so, but...), I have rating unchecked both generally, and for each source.

Nope: Lots of bogus ratings inherited. There is Data,luckily it does not show

(too many years dealing with Metrology, to accept a value that has no 'standard' supporting it)

Most of the time the Rating column stays hidden. It's just recently its come back in two libraries.

Just switched to 2 other (seldom visited) libraries. Clean

Do the folk with this issue use a plugin that adjusts the current view?

I don't use such a plugin.
