Empty maps

While (re)organising my books and for example renaming an author from "Schember, John" to "John Schember"; Calibre does this job perfectly but....
An empty map will be left behind (/Schember, John).
Now I have read do not touch the maps in the Calibre maps-library.
But is ok te remove empty maps with an app like "Find Empty Folders.app"

Removing empty folders is safe. But make sure they are actually empty.
