Stuck with a shop logo as wallpaper.

I have been waiting for over a week, on an answer from the Kobo Helpdesk to remove the logo of the shop in Portugal where I purchased my Kobo Aura One.(FNAC)
The request has been escalated as the normal desk couldn't help.

The normal option to use the book cover is missing in the settings.

Is there a way to wipe the firmware and install a standard version?

Thank you, it took a little reading up to find the .kobo when plugged into my mac, hidden files need a terminal command to see them.
Used textedit and it worked a treat.
I should have searched for FNAC, instead of threads with wallpaper/seceensaver/etc.

I had this same question when I first got my Kobo.

I really don't understand the strategy of disabling wallpaper in the settings. Seems like all it does is anger the customer. Add an option to display your logo and make it default, fine. But allow the customer to change it in settings.

I've found that Kobo likes to rip you off with ads, but Best Buy Canada doesn't have any kind of consumerism at all.

Sorry, that's a load of BS. I've had my devices with the affiliates as Kobo nearly all the time and I have never seen an ad on any of them.

Interesting. My Kobo touch ereaders have come with either Kobo or KoboIndigo as the affiliate and I haven't seen any ads pushed to my screen. Admittedly, I don't consider browse our store, recommended books, etc. where I have to touch the tile to see the information as advertising being forced on me. Kobo will email you about special offers when you register your ereader with Kobo using a real email address but that is not on my ereader.

Looking at my email, I get more advertising from Amazon.ca than from Kobo about books I might be interested in, special offers, etc. Over the last year, both companies have managed to refine their recommendations to where at least once a week, I get information about a book I would be interested in purchasing.

As for Best Buy Canada and no consumerism? I've purchased from them and they do their best to keep my inbox from feeling empty. You looked at this monitor and it's now on sale! You browsed desktop computers and we have these special deals. You purchased a Blu-ray movie and we have similar ones on sale now. Rogue One is similar to Journey to the West, isn't it?

It might be interesting to learn exactly what you mean by "rip off"? A theft, fraud or swindle? An inferior imitation? Exploiting someone who is unable to prevent the exploitation?
