Need help on my Paperwhite2

First of all, I have to say, updating amazon kindle is like buying lottery.
I used 5.4.x for a long time and no problems at all. and after a few crappy updates from amazon, 5.7.2.1 amazed me again with new UI and everything. then I tried 5.8.x, it is totally nightmare!!!!

I got 5.8.9.2 updates pushed from amazon, then my kindle paperwhite 2 just keeps rebooting over and over again, occasionally it can booted into system and but when I open certain books, it stuck!

anyone can help me on downgrading it back to 5.7.2.1 or any stable firmwares?

First off, put it on a wall charger for no less than 24 hours.
Then unplug and hold the power button for 40 seconds.
Lastly check back here to see any other suggestions.

I have never had any issues with any of the Kindle updates. But I always download them to my device and I make sure the device is fully charged before doing the updates.

Sir, was it jailbroken before? Try if access USB Storage is available...
If you had RP installed, then a simple ENABLE_DIAGS will do the needful for you But non-jb devices or devices without RP are SOL!

NO, I ALWAYS use official firmware and never jailbroke it. I purchased it from Amazon Japan, myself. that is why I am a little upset about it. Is was so good, but getting worse and worse.

@schiway: Nice Then, Go and ask Amazon Customer Support to help you. Usually they offer replacement Kindles at a discounted rate. If you are ready to shell out somewhat more than half the price of your PW2, then go ahead and ask them. Since you didn't JB it yet, they would surely offer a replacement.

I talked to them, and ask them if they could replace my gadget with new one or offer any other services for me, they said they cannot do anything, because my kindle was purchased abroad, I should contact Amazon Japan for services. what A BULLSHIT! It is a gift from a Japanese friend, how could I ask him to replace it for me? I live in China, and don't even know how to speak Japanese?!?!

I'm afraid that's the downside of buying a Kindle from a different country: you can only get hardware support in the country the device was bought in. I'd suggest contacting your Japanese friend and asking him to contact Amazon on your behalf.
