[iOS] Just purchased CC, two questions

I just purchased CC and successfully configured it on my iPad to sync wirelessly all my books from my calibre desktop program.

I have two questions:

1. If I understand how CC works correctly, in order to actually read a book, I need to open it from iBooks or another external book reader app. When I hit on "read" on a book within CC, I get asked to which app the book should be copied to. Does this mean that I have to reserve twice the space of my library on my iPad? (once for the books in CC and a second time for iBooks?) If this is the case, it's a tremendous waste of space, which I frankly cannot afford...

2. If the files don't actually get copied but are somehow linked to iBooks without reserving space, how do I perform a mass import? I would have to do the "copy to iBooks" procedure more than 1000 times (once for each book in my library).

Thank you for your time.

I normally just copy the ebooks that I'm actively reading to my reader (I use Marvin). There isn't really a reason to copy them all to the reader.

Before I had CC, I had all my ebooks in Marvin and created a reading list so I would know what books I was reading, or had queued up. The reading list is now the books that I copy to Marvin.

If you want all of your book listed in iBooks then there isn't much point to CC IMO, just put all the books in iBooks and be done with it. Most who use CC use it as their library, taking advantage of the tags and sorting that they have set up in their Calibre library, and only open the book(s) they're currently wanting to read in their chosen reading app.

Hmm... not what I expected then. I was under the impression that I could use CC to take advantage of its advanced sorting features but share the same copy with iBooks... Thanks for your answer, AnemicOak.

iOS forbids sharing copies of files between apps. There is nothing CC can do about that.
