mobi to epub failure

I'm trying to convert The Complete Works of George MacDonald from mobi to epub. It never tells me what is wrong but I have pasted in the log below. I've redownloaded the book at least 3 times and re-imported into Calibre with the appropriate plug-ins up to date, and have the most recent version of Calibre also. (updated today)
I don't know anything about tweaking the input/output stuff, just push a button and have it all convert using defaults, and have not had problems with any other mobi books; it's usually the newer formats that give trouble.

That's the problem. It runs for 10 min and then stops. How do i force it to continue?

What do you mean by 'stop' ?

The progress percentage is not linear, it's a stepwise process, so it will appear to 'pause' from time to time, 16%, and 47% are two values I've often seen.

Conversions have been been known to take a very long time, as in > 24 hours.

You will know if it truly crashes. You are just seeing the big progress bar pause while it grinds away on a single step. Steps are far from linear.

It makes sense to need to run a long time since it's such a large volume. But I don't see any "progress bar" that pauses with any percentage. The jobs graphic in lower right-hand corner circles around for 10 min then stops and says Jobs 0. clicking on that shows the book listed as "taking too long, aborted" If I click on that while it's still running, I can see a percentage listing - it's currently at 1% after almost 5 minutes, so clearly it will need to run a long time but how do I keep it from aborting?

Go into Preferences->Misceelaneous and change the setting to abort jobs taking longer than a time back to its default of "Never abort"

Ah, that's it. I thought after I asked, it must be somewhere in preferences, but had to wait for it to "finish" to access Preferences. I had it (obviously) set to 10 min, don't remember doing that but it must have been awhile back. Now it's running and I'll leave it overnight and see where we are.

That is an out of memory error. If you have a computer with lots of RAM
and a 64bit version of windows, install the 64 bit version of calibre,
that may let you convert this document. Otherwise you are out of luck.
