kepub vs epub chapter names in ToC?

Sorry for so many posts recently. Trying to get comfortable on my kobo, and get it set up correctly.

If I send a book to my kobo as an epub, the ToC (from the button next to the font button) has the correct chapter title that looks nice. If I send the book through the Extended driver, the chapter titles in the ToC are things like "ch03s05.html", which is not nearly as pretty. I am sure that there's someplace that I can fix that, but I'm not even sure where to go to try to fix that.

I'd like to have the reading status features of the kepubs, so I'd like to get them working correctly, although I've been struggling to get kepubs playing correctly with some of my books!

Aha! I needed to force it to use a ToC generated by calibre!

Yes, you need to make sure the book has a ToC. It doesn't matter whether you use calibre to generate it or some other method. But, if you sent an epub and it had a ToC, then resent it as a kepub, it should have the same ToC. Were you talking about different books in your first post?

It was the same book in the first post. If I sent it as a epub, the ToC had the chapter names, and if I sent as a kepub (using the Kobo Touch Extended driver), it didn't. Changing calibre's settings to always use the generated ToC seems to have worked for that, although the ToC now doesn't include all the sub-sections. I think that's probably a configuration option someplace, though.

Thanks!
