Can't Add Books Anymore
I just upgraded Calibre from v2.71 to v2.79 and discovered that I can no longer can add any books. When trying to add books, I am confronted with the error message, "calibre-file-dialog.exe - Entry Point Not Found - The procedure entry point SetCurrentProcessExplicitAppUserModelID could not be located in the dynamic link library Shell32.dll”. Any ideas on how to fix it?

@Andrew7 - add in 2.79 working OK here.
Try a fresh download from here and a fresh install - i.e uninstall what's there via Control Panel then do the install. You won't lose settings or library(ies), but if you're concerned you might, back 'em up first, see ==>> How do I backup calibre?. If that doesn't work, try a system file check with the scannow option. BR |

So at this point it looks like I need to revert back to v2.71 or I could try v2.78 as this version doesn't have this problematic call. Once again thanks for your help. |

Sorry I forgot about vista -- guess I'll have to load that function dynamically. Should be fixed in the next release.

UPGRADE!? Why? It still works great!
![]() Actually it even works far better than it did when I first bought it back in 2009 having made upgrades to both the video card and memory system. At the time of purchase I was promised a free upgrade to Windows 7 by Dell but they never delivered so I am stuck with Vista. |

2.79.1 with the same problem here...
And about upgrade Vista, in my case that's is impossible, because the screen of my laptop do not work fine, so I need a external monitor, and when I try to install any OS, the external monitor don't show me nothing (of course)..... so for that reason I still use Vista. @mariaclaudia are you sure you are runnin 2.79.1? As I dont see how it is possible to get the same error. What is the exact error message you get?

I just upgraded calibre today and usually add books from 3M cloud library under digital editions. However today cannot find the "checked out" book on my PC to add to calibre. First time to this forum and not real computer smart. Just love to read and love calibre
