Aura HD Slow response

I finding the response times on my aura hd to be getting slower and slower. I'm wondering if I'm the only one? 2 examples:

- From the main screen I open my collections. The selection goes <black> and about 10 seconds later the collections open up. It's a VERY long time.

- To look a word up in the dictionary I do a medium-long press on the word. Several seconds I get the word underlined and the dict opens. During the delay I have no idea if I have hit the word properly or not.

To be honest, the lookup delay has always been there. But the collections delay is getting to be intolerable. I've got about 1000 books on the device, no SD card. All books installed with calibre.

It may seem like a stupid question, but have you powered off/on recently? My Aura HD seemed slow the other day, so I did that, and it seemed normal, afterwards.

Guess I'm wondering what is "normal". Just to make sure, I did a power off just now and restarted. Hit <read><collections> and timed it. 8 seconds. Then I hit my current book (top left of the home screen). That took only about 2 seconds to get back to the book.

So, is accessing <collections> slow of everyone? If I hit <read><books> the delay is brief. Database access problem?

Opening the collections list takes about 40 seconds here. That's for 40 pages of collections. It has always been this way. The number of collections increase the time, but the total number of books in the collections also has an affect.

The recent firmware has improved the speed of reopening the list. The second time it is around 15 seconds.

Opening collections on my aura hd takes 3 seconds. I have 4 pages of collections.

Guess I'll need to prune some books out of the reader. I've got a lot of stuff that I'll probably never read ... but keep it there "just in case". I've got it on calibre so I can aways restore later.

I'm surprised that it does take so long. Isn't this all stored in a sql database? Maybe the database needs to be optimized somehow.

I don't know if number of collections matters as to speed. I just don't like a lot of collections.
