New kobo e-reader

Hey guys. I'm thinking of buying myself a Kobo touch 2.0, so I have a couple of questions for all of you who own one. : )

Does it update its firmware? Can you upload your own fonts on it? Can you upload books from your computer on it? Does the battery really last for 2 months? And finally what are your sincere thoughts on it, and is it worth all the money?

Thanks in advance. All replies are greatly appreciated.

I don't own a Touch 2, but my Aura HD (and most other Kobo's) run the same firmware.

Yes, when there is a firmware update the device will update (as long as WiFi is set up and on), or you can manually update it.

Yes you can add your own fonts. Not sure if all of the Font Genius stuff will work with those fonts though.

2 month battery life? Probably depending on your usage. Usually those estimates are for something like "if you read 1/2 hour a day and with WiFi off".

Is it worth it? Only you can say. It looks like a decent device using old screen tech (Pearl instead of Carta, lower resolution) much like the basic Kindle it directly competes with in the market space.

Are you buying from the Kobo store? If so, the Touch 2.0 is $89.99 and the Aura Edition 2 is $99.99. In that case, I'd say spend the extra $10.00 for a lighted screen.

Or buy an original Aura off of eBay for half the price. Spec wise it is in about the same league and it has an SD card slot.
