Calibre stopped recognizing my Nook Samsung Galaxy S2

My Nook updated its OS recently and when I tried to connect it to Calibre this past Tuesday (12/6), I discovered that I couldn't use Calibre to move files to and from my Nook. The Nook appears not to be recognized. I followed Kovid's troubleshooting advice and still no luck.

I'm running Windows 7, and started with Calibre 2.68.0 (which worked fine on 11/22) and ended up with Calibre 2.73, both 64-bit.

Per Kovid's advice: my computer recognizes my Nook, it is not being ignored, all the device interface plug-ins are green, and below is the debug device detection output. Hope someone can help. Thank you.

According to that your device is being recognized and opened. What happens when you run calibre normally? Try running calibre in debug mode (right click the preferences button and choose restart in debug mode) and post the log when you plug in your device.

Ok, my device is actually connecting, it's just taking 30 secs or so to show up for me. I'm more used to a few seconds, so that's why I thought it wasn't connecting.

Hopefully this doesn't muddy the situation, but when I delete a book, Calibre then takes more than 3 minutes to send the metadata to device. I only have 7 books on my device after deleting 1. It didn't use to take that long, and this started happening before the Nook OS update.

There have been literally zero changes to MTP device support in calibre in years. If your device is performing slowly all of a sudden, then it is either the device or the USB cable/port that are malfunctioning. Try different USB cable/port or resetting the device.
