DOCX is unreadeble with Word 2010
Converted '1000 years of annoying the French' epub creates 4MB docx which cannot be opened by Word 2010.

And this is not the first time Calibre failed to create readable Word docx.

Any suggestions? Can I send somebody epub file to try?

@HagaWaga - you can post a bug report with an attachment at Bugs : calibre. If the book is under copyright be sure to mark the bug report as Private.

You might also want to try the ePub Import feature of the Toxaris' e-Book Tools - a Word add-in

Thank you for suggestions and advise but trust me, I just cannot open Another account anywhere.
I resolved problem converting to .rtf, opened by Word 2010 and saved as .docx.
As for the Word add ons, no thanks. I like it lean and simple. I use Calibre exclusively for .epub

Why can't you open an account? It is free, and you don't have to remember it for longer than a couple of days...

Yet you use Word and Calibre! Notepad and File Explorer is my lean and simple

FWIW: by default I also go the calibre ePUB->RTF conversion route. I find its more consistent than ePUB->DOCX converters, which are sometimes better, often worse, and usually not too different. I tend not to suggest it because some folks have a hang up about RTF, and others don't like two step solutions.
