Kobo Glo Won't Process new content
I'm overseas and so decided it would be a good idea to back up my library incase something happened, since it's all drm free epubs. ANNNND somehow i broke things. All downloaded content disappeared and now i can't add anything new.
Have performed basic and factory reset. When adding content manually it gets to about 6% and then drops back to the main menu. Have tried adding via micro SD and nothing. Suggestions? It's well out of warrenty so am very open to custom firmware or opening up the case. |

One possibility is that you have a corrupted book which Nickel is stumbling on.
As a starting point, have you tried just adding 1 book to see if can process anything. (Depending upon how many books you have add, it might be worth trying this a couple of times, in case you just happen to pick a flaky book). If it can add a single book with no issue, it increases the likelihood that you have a corrupted book file somewhere. A second option would be to install KSM and Koreader. (See guides within this site). Then connect your Kobo to your computer via KSM (i.e. do not go in to Nickel) add a book and eject. Since Koreader does not use the Nickel database, see if Koreader can see and open the book you have added. I am sure others here can advise further, but at my basic level, I know those are both steps I have taken in the past when I have encountered an issue with Nickel processing new content. |

The symptoms suggest there is a bad book in the batch being processed. Unfortunately, if the firmware fails to process a book, it stops further processing and either reboots or goes to the home screen. And it will keep doing this until the bad book is removed. The only fix is to find the bad book and remove it. Unfortunately, I know of no way to find the bad book other than trial and error. You will probably need to remove them all and add them in smaller batches until you work out which is the problem book.
