File Not Authorized for Transfer to Reader

New W10 laptop authorized with Adobe Digital Editions 4.5 and a Kobo Touch authorized for years.
Downloaded a library book and able to read it within ADE,but after transfer to the Touch,it says the file isn't authorized for transfer to the device.
Everything functions OK on the old laptop. Thanks.

You might want to check the Adobe ID authorized on both the ereader and computer to make sure you used the same ID. I made this mistake when moving to a new computer. The Adobe ID I was using was based on an email address that hadn't existed for years and I simply forgot and used my new ID.

If they are the same, you might want to uninstall ADE 4.5, install ADE 2.0.1 ( Adobe Digital Editions ) and try again. My local library and I had some issues when I tried using ADE 4.0 so I reverted back to 2.0.1 which I am still using under Windows 10 x64.

Same ID used on Touch and new laptop. No joy with downgrading the ADE version.
Perhaps a Win 10 glitch,as it works on the old Win 7 laptop and on my android tablet.

What happens if you re authorize the Kobo with the new install of ADE under Windows 10? You might want to backup the files in the Adobe directory on the Kobo before trying this; I don't have easy access to my Kobo right now but I think there are two or three files in a directory at the root of the Kobo, at least one of which is flagged as hidden.

No change after reauthorizing the Touch within the Win 10 ADE.

Same ID used. Have only had the one.

I set it up on my android tablet on Mon and it works perfectly. However,I would really like to get the Kobo working as I prefer the screen on an e-reader.

Spoke to the library yesterday. They have had lots of calls about problems like this and the majority are from Win 10 users. They had no suggestions to fix this beyond what I've already tried.

I usually check time zones on PC and kobo, or restart device. It might help.
