Why do I get underlines?
I get random underlining in new ebooks on my Kindle paperwhite, any ideas as to why? This has happened in several different books.

Perhaps they are notes? Check to see if you have popular highlights or notes turned on in the settings.

To turn on Popular Highlights or Public Notes:

While reading, tap the top of the screen to show the reading toolbar.
Tap the Menu menu icon and then tap Settings.
Tap Reading Options and then tap Notes & About This Book.
Next to Popular Highlights or Public Notes, tap On/Off.

I'm betting this is it. I noticed that when I first got my Voyage and couldn't turn off "Popular Highlights" quick enough! Might be useful in a research book, but I don't really care what everyone else in the "Amazon reading world" highlights in the latest mystery novel I'm reading!

Why? I assume that some people like them, and the ones that don't just turn them off. For myself, it's the first thing I do with every Kindle I buy.
