Quotations at the beginning of a paragraph are larger than those that are not

I'm new to using Calibre, and my current book has larger quotations when they start a paragraph.

EX:

"Hi" he said. "Are you John Doe?" she said.

Is there a fix for this? Should I try heuristic processing?

Look at the code in an editor, the reason should become clear then.
