Calibre wish function

is there or could there be a way to put a place setting for the next book in the series??
So that we remember there is a next book.

You can an empty book record (I.e. One with no attached eBook file). That can be done via one of the options on the Add Books menu. You can then fill in all the metadata (and cover) for the book. If you later get a copy of the eBook it can be added to that record.

I've considered doing this with tags. Either 1ofX or SeriesTotalX where X is the total number of books in the series.

I think I decided I didn't need it before I actually tagged a bunch of books.
