Review of T68ML , plus Perfect Viewr issue

Good day !

Just got my new T68ML and trying to put my manga collection to the new lovely eink reader . However , just used a few day I'm not very satisfy with this device .

Cons :
1) Status Bar . It has big , HD screen , but no way to disable the status bar by the stock system .
Solution : With the aid of the QuickFullScreen Manager Free , it is possible to activate full screen for specific apps , e.g. Perfect Viewer

2) About the screen . Obviously it is not a Carta screen , too bad I found out this right after I receive the reader . Screen need complete refresh frequently , but this function only can be activate via long press the menu button .

3) The hard key it self is also full of flaws . The 4 direction pad is hard to use , and the volume up/dn (or page turning) feel a little bit fragile when compare to K3KB , which feel solid and rigid .

4) No task manager , but obviously it can be installed via Google Play

Pros :
1) Screen . A 6.8" display with much higher resolution , very good for reading manga . But in order to do that , you need to fulfill 3 criteria : a full screen viewer software , good manga source and lots of time to convert the manga .

2) Google Play preinstalled .

3) Bundle with a hard case with sleep function

Besides my review , I would like to ask if any T68ML user also using Perfect Viewer ? I found that when using perfect viewer , sometimes the screen will become blank even loading is finished . The return key sometimes is not functioning properly (directly return to Anrdoid System instead of backing one level) . Also , sometimes when pressing the top part of the screen will yield unexpected behavior , for example , selecting a different directory in the file selection menu will return to the previous directory , not the one I select for . If anyone have the same issue please let me know how to resolve this problem , thanks a lot !

Hi there.

I am thinking to buy this T68ML or Kobo H2O or Kobo Glo HD, I am not sure which one to go for yet.

I know the T68ML is Pearl screen, not Carta. But, Is the screen that bad? And is it that poor built?

Do you recommend the others to buy T68ML?

PS: I want T68ML is because it is running Android and have the display of 6.8".

Kobo H2O is fast because it has Carta Display.

Since there is no 6.8 inch eReader from Onyx using Carta Display, i will recommend C67 Carta 2 with 300 ppi display if you want an android based eReader.

I've just read all the bad comments in Kobo website. These comments are scary. I am not going for Kobo then. For a better quality device, I might go for Kindle Paperwhite eventually.

Kobo Aura H2o has awesome build quality. Perhaps, the bad comments are about Glo HD. And i always thought that paperwhite is a product of advertisement, and ecosystem. I have compared paperwhite with h2o and there is absolutely no comparison. H2o wins by miles.

Thanks dude. I just bought the Kobo H2O, and I am loving it so far.
