Robin Hobb
I know Robin Hobb's books aren't fast paced action fests, and that there is a lot of character development and exploration and introspection. That's fine, but I was wondering which of her series/books has the most action? I'd like some to keep my interest.

None of them are what I would call "action-packed," but I still think they're very-much worth it (with the exception of the Soldier Son Trilogy). The books set in her Realm of the Elderlings universe all tie together, so I couldn't, in good conscience, recommend anything other than starting at the very beginning (Farseer Trilogy) and proceeding in order of publication. Others will of course tell you that the Liveship Traders and Rain Wild series' can be read independently of the Fitz/Fool series', I just happen to disagree. I tried skipping Liveship traders and going straight to Tawny Man and had to stop and back up because I could just tell that subtle details were escaping me.
![]() I have no experience with the books written under her own (Lindholm) name. Last edited by DiapDealer; 11-16-2015 at 07:57 AM. Reason: typo |

Under her actual name (Lindholm), the one title I read (and there are many to choose from) are not as much character-driven as her Hobb titles.

My first Hobb books were the rain wild chronicles and whilst its fairly stand alone im sure theres lots of references and things that have passed me by. Id definitely start from the beginning and I will be doing so when I get round to it.

I agree. Read them in publication order or you'll miss things.
