LED is off no matter what...

Well, I wanted to try my luck with Kobo and ... I bought a Kobo Touch, seller claiming battery doesn't hold charge. When I plug it in my wall charger, no sign off life, LED is still off. I disassembled it and pulled battery cable off and back on, tried again, connected to wall charger, no dice. Held power button, power button+home, nothing, no sign of life whatsoever. I was wondering what the issue might be! If we say KT is not dead, I assume even if I disconnect battery cable and just plug it to USB cable onto wall charger, there should be some life going on in it, right? I've had it connected it to my USB wall charger for a couple of hours now. Will leave it and try again as suggested. About your 3rd point: On the motherboard of this KT, I don't have those signs that are pronounced on yours and it's not clearly visible in the picture attached. Can you explain a bit more about this? what is it supposed to do? Thanks Last edited by thatworkshop; 10-18-2015 at 04:32 PM.

I don't have a Touch. you connect wall charger 5v, the red(+) to V, and the black(-) to grounding(three line). in your touch the marking missing, see if you have another spot with marking. I almost positive that the left pin is V(+). Last edited by oren64; 10-19-2015 at 01:22 PM.

I connect red to left-most and black to right-most and nothing. So if doesn't work, I assume motherboard is bad, right?

Look like it. In Kobo Glo the grounding is second from the right, maybe you should try it too. |

So, is the bad USB port a well known issue with these Kobo devices? THANK YOU VERY MUCH. Replaceing USB port solves the issue? Last edited by thatworkshop; 10-18-2015 at 06:08 PM.

These are really no issue in real life... I hope 'real issues in life' Spoiler:
get resolved. Until then, a thousand karmas from me for you. Off-topic: Spoiler:

you can wire the wires to the board and connect them to microUSB port, but you need to know the marking (v, d+, d-, -). Kobo Glo Hd have only internal sd card but you can upgrad to larger size. Last edited by oren64; 10-18-2015 at 07:13 PM.

Oh so, based on the picture, you've previously had a similar problem! that's bummers! I figured what's the issue... As soon as I connect cable to microUSB port, Kobo freaks out. Power button is bad too! So only way to get it back is to disconnect and reconnect the battery! I hope I can solve the issue with power switch because it could be irritating, every time it goes to sleep, I can't wake it up! and have to disconnect battery!
