the new bookerly font

my KF today offered me a new reading font - bookerly.

it looks ok - maybe a tad smaller than Cecelia ?

so I came here hoping that the erudite font gurus would have analysed this to death already and would tell me all I need to know about it

as in: why think for yourself when you can find a guru to do it for you

but no discussions yet ?

google did find a link saying its not on the kindle e-readers or the kindle for xxx apps yet but it looks easy to locate & copy via ES file explorer, so I assume that if I like it it will work on whatever device I sideload it to

I got the new reading font yesterday. I quite like it. It does seem to facilitate faster reading as it claims.

I am curious to know what they have done, technically, within the font design that can facilitate faster reading.

if my curiosity peaks I will try to sideload the font into windows, where I can do some big side by side comparisons in a word document

My interest is piqued.

I prefer "bitter" to caecelia because it's narrower (but not as much as caecelia condensed).

I can see why a smaller font than caecelia would be better suited to faster reading.

I just got a pop up last night when I opened a book about the new font. I really like it a lot. It is very readable. I am sticking with it. I have been switching between caecelia, palatino, georgia before, but I think I like this bookerly best of all. Might be just the new shiny thing effect.

I am happy about it.

a pop up when ( I think) I turned on my HDX 8.9 and then went to the books tab, or maybe it was when I opened a book - not sure.

Its nice, isn't it. I also found that I like the green backround later in the evening and night. I didn't think to try that before, because well green.

, But its more like a light sage green and with the new bookerly font, I read much longer last night before going to bed. Somehow seems better on my eyes.
