V4.2.1 beta channel release
V4.2.1/182 (BETA CHANNEL):
  • Allow backup/recovery to navigate to SD cards
  • Remember the last directory used for backup/restore
  • [BUG FIX]Fix strange crash where no cloud provider has been selected. I suspect these crashes come from pirates attempting to "break" CC.

V4.2.1/181 (BETA CHANNEL):
  • New: tags/series/authors etc are now tappable in cloud book details
  • [BUG FIX]Fix "zero" first letters not being respected in CC cloud
  • [BUG FIX]Fix requiring WiFi when using the local library cloud connection
  • [BUG FIX]Fix some white-on-white dialogs
  • [BUG FIX]Fix rare crash in content server when a book has no UUID

The book grid widget seems to be broken. It's still showing my recent books, but it doesn't update any more. This might have been broken for a little while.

Unfortunately for debugging, it works for me both on my Android 5.2 and 4.3 device.

Have you tried deleting and recreating the widget?

Do any of the other widgets work?

I just tried adding all the different kinds. The all work in that the scroll when they are supposed to and show a list of books. They all also show the same list of books.

None of them are updating to include new books when I open a fresh book from CC.

I think I might have found it.

Did you unset the setting "Update Date Read when read" in CC's Marking Books Read section? If so then I have found the bug. Not only is that setting controlling setting the is-read date but it is also (erroneously) controlling the update of the list of read books.

I did. And just as a test, I rechecked it, and now the widget list is being updated. I then unchecked it again (because I don't like to set the date read until I finish it) and it stopped updating.

The fix will be in the next beta channel release, probably on Friday.
