Sweetness: Delicious Baked Treats for Every Occasion by professional baker Sarah Levy is her newbie-friendly, advanced chef-appealing guide to developing a repertoire of Exactly What It Says In The Title, free courtesy of publisher Agate's Surrey imprint.

Currently free, probably just until the weekend @ Amazon (not available to Canadians), and as a DRM-free PDF download available worldwide directly @ the publisher's webstore.

I'm being offered only the pdf of the Table of Contents for the book when I go to Agate's website. Maybe the offer of a free pdf of the whole book has ended. Probably it's not going to matter to anyone, with all of the other format options available; I don't know anyone who actually prefers the pdf.

At any rate, I had picked it up at Amazon some time back, when it was free then. I've also just now grabbed it at B&N, thanks to your last post, so I'll have it in a different format also.

Well, considering that the "retail" store versions are only available to a limited subset of Gentle Readers worldwide, a PDF is not optimal, but better than nothing for people outside the US/UK (especially for those who don't want to go through the hassle of geo-restriction hoop-jumping and then also DRM-stripping).

Agate does usually repeat their direct-download PDF offers for their regular freebies, but on occasion they skip them (or are slow in putting up the full versions alongside the sample excerpts/presskits they usually have on the page). But I always put up the extra linkage to any place where stuff is likely to become free based on past experience, just in case.

You never know.
