In what way specifically do you want to customise it?

I mean I want to assign a category for each group of pdf (articles, story, academic books, newspaper , cooking , etc.) .
the must obvious method is to use the device itself and assign a category one by one to each book; however for a large collection it is impossible.

You could do it with a Calibre plugboard. Add a custom column to Calibre containing your category, and then use a plugboard to append it to the title or author of the PDF. Personally I find plugboards much more useful than collections.

could you please share a link which shows how to add a custom column to calibre containing my category ?

and at the end, suppose I did organize the books with plugboards , how can I jump into a specific category on device ?

Ask in the Calibre forum about custom columns.

If you prefix the category to the title, you can go directly to it by sorting your home page by title, tapping the page number in the lower right corner of the screen, and entering the prefix into the search box. This is exactly the method I've used for years to manage series', and it works extremely well.

I think the problem is :
I use "send to kindle" plugin in chrome almost on daily base. then it is not possible to organize those documents in calibre because it is independent of calibre.or I am wrong?

That's correct. You'd need to be sending books to your device from Calibre in order to use the method I described.

Thank you for the suggestion. I afraid this method doesnt work for me. I like the way collection works in kindle. for now I add my books to collection manually.

I hope in future i can organize them with aid of calibre.

btw amazon is too mean that they dont want to give you the possibility to do basic tasks like this via amazon.com or their software.

going to study!
