Pop-up infos/view time

Hola!

A little query about the pop-up infos in the Preferences -> Interface -> Look and Feel -> Tag Browser window.
Depending on the position of the pointer information is presented in different ways.


Info in pop-up box.


Info in pop-up box and above.

So far that's all right even for me that's a gimmick. But in case of a long info text it doesn't work properly.

Info in pop-up box and above only partly (15 inch screen, full screen height wouldn't change anything).

IMHO the pop-up infos would be totally sufficient.

The view time of these pop-up infos I have found they are relative to the length of the info text. E.g. the pop-up info to Categories with hierarchical items (longest one) lasts 20 sec, that to Show average ratings in the tag browser (shortest one) is 10 sec. (The others are between in time.)

Sophisticated! But a non-English speaking person sometimes needs longer to comprehend the info. Moving the mouse pointer drops them anyway.

Where is to set the duration?

The time to comprehend X is not necessarily a function of the number of words/terms needed to describe/define X. Think - Brief History of Time, e=mc² ...

@chaot - I'd settle for an option to have them stick until the mouse moves.

But besides I want to try something simpler. For this it would be helpful I could see the Look and Feel -> Tag Browser window shown in page source view (is it the correct expression?).

I would like the Tag Browser to be available when editing tags in the Book list. Maybe a tweak - "Use Tag Editor in book list cell edit" - Yes/No. Default would be No, to protect status quo --- sorry, my mind sometimes works in doggerel

Re Tooltips, this is interesting ==>> About Tooltip Controls (Windows)

Its a pity there's not an option to set the 3 timers globally so that by default, all applications behaved the same. Strangely, I like tooltips, its the one thing for which I don't mind using the mouse - calibre's tooltips are best in show.

But I also like Ribbons that popup with Alt [x], so maybe it's not so strange that I should also like tooltips

What's so funny about!? A not at first sight recognizable image composition allows a word of explanation - may require this even.
I am heartbroken to have to tell you that it is not what I wanted. I was thinking of something like this, a source code view. (By the way, this is an excerpt on your post #7.)

Anything (whatever it may be) meets my expectations makes a formal (or even an unformal) enhancement request superfluous. Or!?
Whether something here does or doesn't match my expectations I decide then for me and I will use (if required) that so kindly mentioned Launchpad address.
