H2O vs HD?
HI

My husband wants to buy either a Aura HD or a H2O? He lives in USA, where should he order them? Is the new H2O stable yet? Any light/battery problem so far?

Unless he can get the HD at a big discount, I'd go for the H2O. I own both, and the Carta screen of the H2O is significantly better. It being water- & dustproof is a nice bonus.

They run exactly the same firmware, so that's a wash, and I haven't had any battery problems. The frontlight on both is superb; the HD is somewhat blueish, where the H2O is more yellow in hue, but both are very good.

Do not buy it from Kobo directly. They loose orders. Take forever to ship etc. Order it online from chapters. When the price gets converted to US$ its actually cheaper from chapters. They also ship quickly. I had mine 3 days after I ordered it.

Five days for me, but I ordered over the holiday weekend. Highly recommend Chapters.

If something goes wrong, you'll be back to dealing with Kobo CS, but at least you won't have to deal with them up front.

It's a great device, I'm very happy with it.
