Non-validating svg with Epubcheck (Epub2)

Hi

I have a very basic svg image, saved as a simple svg on one EPUB2. The Calibre editor is happy about it, but Epubcheck 3.0.1. tells me that the following elements "are not allowed"

Code:

inkscape:label
inkscape:version
inkscape:groupmode
sodipodi:namedview
sodipodi:docname
"rdf:RDF"

(I think at least the last one is unimportant).

I could erase them using the XML editor of Inkscape, but I wonder...
If I do nothing, will the EPUB be displayed worldwide without problems?

I tried to insert it in an EPUB with an object tag. It displays well in Calibre but Epubcheck protests loudly.

inkscape:* and sodipodi:* properties are specific for inkscape (a successor of sodipodi), their presence should not make the files invalid and most renderers will just ignore them. If you remove them, some inkscape features may not work as expected and inkscape may add them again.

Hi Roger;

Open that .svg image in Inkscape and after that save it as "plain svg". That should fix your issue.

Oh, that's my mistake. I thought I had done it properly.

Now, I get only the usual complaint which I know is irrelevant
