A Font For Dyslexics

I don't think this has been mentioned here recently. Just saw it on the six o'clock news.

Quote:
A designer who has dyslexia has created a font to help dyslexic readers navigate text, designing letters in a way that avoids confusion and adds clarity.

Dutch designer Christian Boer's Dyslexie font has been around for a while, but it's been getting new attention thanks to being featured in the Istanbul Design Biennial.

A little searching turned up Christian Boer's Dyslexie font. It is on a yearly license and appears to have a limited version at no cost. At: http://www.dyslexiefont.com/

Note under the Font Link there is a description which includes some pointers on page layout for dyslexics.

There is also a free open source version at: http://opendyslexic.org/

I saw some older posts here that a view readers like Kobo supported similar fonts. Has this become popular at all. Are many ebooks incuding such fonts?

I hate to say this, but it's old news.

Yes, but it's good to have fresh links to the fonts....

The Kobo firmware includes the OpenDyslexic font. It can be selected and used when reading like any other font. They had another until recently. I think it was Dyslexia, but I'm not sure. The firmware also supports sideloading fonts. As long as the files are correctly named, they should work.
