Books and Series question

Hello,

I am making an html interface to be able to reach my Calibre books over the internet.

One peculiarity I stumbled upon is relationship between books and series.

At first I thought that it was a classic many-to-many, since there is a "books_series_link" table in the database. But there is no way to include a book in more than one series in GUI, and I found the series_index field in "books" table.

So, my question is: is there ever gonna be a many-to-many relationship implemented between books and series?

I'm not asking just out of pure curiosity - there are, for example, some books by Michael Connely that belong to both "Harry Bosch" and "Mickey Haller" series, according to author himself: http://www.michaelconnelly.com/extras/series/

A book can have one series and one series index. A series can have many books. This will not change in the foreseeable future.
