Calibre won't operate on Bitcasa

I am having a problem I do not understand. I am using a cloud product called Bitcasa. I have copied my Calibre library to this cloud product. The first time I open Calibre and point to this DB everything works fine. The next time I open Calibre, I get a corrupted library message. See attached screenshot. Something is going on with metadata.DB that Bitcasa cannot handle. Can anyone help me with what is happening here? I copied the Calibre library to Dropbox just to see how it would handle it. I noticed that everytime I start Calibre a new metadata.DB gets updated. Let me state for the record that I know this is a Bitcasa problem. I have been using Calibre for some time and love it. I have no intention of running Calibre on Bitcasa. I am using this as a test case to prove that Bitcasa has integrity issues. I would like to know what data processing issue is going on that they can't handle.

That error indicates the metadata.db is corrupted, i.e. its contents have been partially overwritten with garbage. There's no way to know what file operations cause that, it could be anything, the most likely culprit is that you have two programs writing to the same file at the same time.

This turned out to be a Bitcasa problem and has been fixed.
