Order Problems

A couple of days ago, I ordered a Kobo Aura. I got a receipt, order number and saw that my credit card had been charged.

I logged into my account today at Kobo but it said I had no orders on file.

Has anyone else had this problem? I sent an email to Kobo about this but I don't expect to hear until Monday.

What has been your experience in time between order placed and shipping?

The Kobo web shop does not store any data on hardware purchases; it would see!m they have two separate sales interfaces and backends, one for books, and one for hardware.

Similar question for me. Ordered several days ago, credit card was charged on the 7th, but still no shipment email, although the Kobo site shows the units in stock (this for an H2O).

For anyone that ordered after October 1st, what has been the experience for actually receiving their unit?

I'd suggest that those people with order questions might also include what country they are in. It would probably help others chime in with their experiences.

Kobo tends to be poor at sending a shipment e-mail. It's quite likely the device may show up next week without you ever getting shipping one.

I pre-ordered my H20 on Sept 20th, was charged on the 29th. I waited until the 30th to call Kobo who saw my purchase but said my H20 had not been shipped yet. I was told it -should- ship the next day (October 1st). October 2nd rolled around without any news from Kobo so I called again and was told to call back on the following Monday (October 6th). I called October 6th as I -still- did not have any news from Kobo about my shipping info. I was then given a tracking number which showed my device was out for delivery.

Flash forward to today, I never got an official email from Kobo with the tracking number save for the one generated by CS when I called. But I have been enjoying my H20 since about 1:30pm EST.

According to the tracking info it shipped out in the afternoon of October 2nd, so it was a fast turn around once shipped it was just frustrating waiting for the tracking number.

I would suggest calling Kobo, chances are your device has been shipped.

Update.....in case anyone is interested, I called Kobo today. I had not received an answer to my email after four days so I decided to call.

The Customer service person said my Aura was still in processing and had NOT shipped.

She then said the estimated arrival date was this Friday, the 17th. Then she gave me a tracking number for Canada Post which showed it shipped last Friday from Canada and was now in the U.S.

I hope this isn't a omen of things to come.

I finally decided to order on October 7th at around 6pm. I received two confirmation emails within minutes, one said "new order", the other said "invoice", but otherwise they were pretty much identical. My credit card was charged on the 8th. I called them yesterday and was given a Canada Post tracking number, which worked at USPS.com.

The H2O arrived today, packed in a bubble mailer, not a cardboard box. I was surprised by that, but all is well despite the packaging. I love the size. The screen is absolutely beautiful, with no pinholes or uneven lighting. Sitting next to my Kobo Glo, the screen is a creamier color. I wouldn't call it yellow, but definitely not the bluish tint of the Glo. It appears to not be as bright as the Glo whether on 100% or all the way down to 0%. I consider that a plus as I always though the Glo's light was harsh when turned up more than 50% or so. I haven't read a book on it yet but my initial impression of it is that it's a keeper that will replace my Glo.

So, not quite 7 full days from placing the order to arrival in my Midwest USA mailbox (I did not have to sign for it). I never received a "your order has shipped email".

Thank you for the update on your ordering experience. My experience so far has been identical to yours, except no H2O yet, and I ordered a day earlier. But since yesterday was a holiday, I'm hoping it arrives today. Will know soon. Perhaps this thread title should have been "H20 ordering experiences" or some such.
