Help! Computer will not detect Kindle

Hi I recently left my Kindle Touch in my drawer and forgot about it for 2 months. When I came back the battery was totally flat but somehow I managed to revive it after charging it for 10 hours using my ipad charger adaptor and the kindle cable.

Now the battery is full and I can read books on the kindle, no problem.

However, now when I connect my kindle to my computer, I can no longer detect it. The light on the kindle still flashes orange as though it is charging which means that the cable is working. Just no access to the kindle at all.

I have tried different android cables, restarting my kindle, used different computers, usb ports, etc. Spent hours on google but am unable to find any solution for this. So I resorted to signing up for a account here and try my luck. Can someone help me? Much appreciated!

I love my kindle someone please save it!

It shouldn't make a difference - I've never had any trouble connecting various Kindles to my Mac, using random micro-USB cables.

The retina Macs used to have a bug and some devices cannot be seen by its usb3.0 ports. Or was it that once something connects to it, it cannot be re-connected. A usb2 hub solves the issue.

OP, make sure the individual components are working independently by using another device to test. The ports, and usb cable.

Perhaps a factory reset of the Kindle might help?
