Files changed on opening in the Editor

I've been trying it out today and it seems just opening an epub with the editor changes the file, whether you make any changes or not or save it.

Is that really how it's intended to perform?

For myself, I'd much rather have the file changed only when I do an intentional save. The opening of a file alone shouldn't force any changes at all in any program.

Disable the metadata update under calibre integration in the preferences.

Great, that worked! Thanks for the quick response.

Edit: I would suggest the default setting should have this option disabled so people don't change books unintentionally. The only way to change the setting is to first open a book, which has already altered that file.

I was trying to direct someone yesterday to make this change and can no longer find it. I looked through the changelogs and couldn't find any reference to it.

Has the option been moved else? Or was it changed that opening an epub can never change the file anymore?

@Ripplinger - It's still there, you may have to scroll the preferences options in the left panel

Found it, it's been moved from the viewer to the Edit Book window. Thanks.
