				New to Calibre

			Hi

Just started using Calibre. On the main interface I have adjusted the Title, Author(s), Date etc columns to my required size. This is fine, but every time I close the computer down, on restarting Calibre, it has returned to the default setting. How do I save these settings once made, as I can't see any save function, only Restore Default Layout. Thanks |

Well... this is a pickle. My calibre keeps any of the changes I have made across different sessions...

Usually, calibre settings are stored in your Appdata\Roaming\calibre directory. But I don't see anything in there like a .conf file that would have easily user accessible editable data. Perhaps try backing up your calibre Library and re-installing calibre? A new version 2.0 was just released, perhaps give that a try? |

Please post in the correct forum. Calibre questions belong in the Calibre forum, to where I'm now moving this.

			Does seem very weird...

![]() This setting is, however, set within the specific library database, and is backed up in the metadata_db_prefs_backup.json in the key "library_view books view state", subkey "column_sizes". NOT in %APPDATA%\calibre |
