Free (Kobo/Kindle) Pinkerton, Behave! by S. Kellogg [Classic Children's Picture Book]

Pinkerton, Behave! by Steven Kellogg (Wikipedia) is a refreshed vintage children's illustrated picture story, 1st in his popular series about the eponymous humorous pet dog, now celebrating its 35th anniversary in this updated edition, free courtesy of publisher Penguin's Dial imprint.

Currently free @ Kobo (available to Canadians), and free to pre-order @ Amazon (available to Canadians).

Description
Pinkerton doesn't understand his owner’s commands. When told to come, he jumps out the window. When asked to fetch, he destroys the slippers instead. Pinkerton’s desperate owners take him to obedience school, but he flunks out in record time. Then one night a burglar breaks into their house, and Pinkerton is able to put his bad habits to good use.

This silly charmer of a story was included on the Booklist and Horn Book best of the year lists and inspired four sequels about the impossibly clueless but irresistibly sweet Pinkerton. Now, in honor of its 35th anniversary, Steven Kellogg has updated the art and text (most notably removing the gun that appeared in the original edition), and has written an introductory note about the book’s history.

The only problem is that no link appears in the library (i.e. no way to download it) over at Kobo.

It's technically a pre-order at Kobo as well, slated for actual release sometime in September, according to the publication date at the very bottom of the listing.

The difference is that it's available to add to your library now (for later) and IIRC Kobo doesn't make you input actual credit card info for pre-orders like Amazon does, at least not of the "Free Book" type.

Ah, I see. That explains it then. I wonder why they didn't say that though? I mean it's also at Amazon and they let you know if something is a pre-order book or not.
