Barnes & Noble Discounted E-Gift Cards
Hello fellow Nook owners. I found a website that sells barnesandnoble e-gift cards that can be stored on your nook account for nook-book purchases. The good thing is theses e-gift cards are sold for less than face value. I have purchased 3 cards so far and I have had no problem storing them on my account or making purchases. I received my card number and pin via my email address within 1 hour of making my purchase.
Anyone interested go to www.cartkrazy.com |

I notice that you are a new member. Welcome. There are actually several discount gift card sites. I just checked one that I happen to have remembered, Raise.com (https://www.raise.com/buy-gift-cards...ksandMagazines), and noticed that they have Barnes and Noble cards for up to 6.7% discount. Amazon is there, too, but with a paltry discount up to 1.5%. I did not see Kobo; I also did not see Google Play or any of the other 2nd tier ebook sellers (iTunes cards are under the "Entertainment" heading (https://www.raise.com/buy-gift-cards...=Entertainment)). For those who still have an attachment for (or for some reason need) dead tree books, there were a couple of B&M bookstores represented, too, including Books-A-Million and Family Christian. I've never actually bought cards on any of these sites, but as far as some are concerned, I think that the maximum discount will change from sometimes one day to the next, depending on what they have in their inventory, the dollar amount of the card, etc. |

GtrsRGr8,
The e-Gift Cards from Raise takes 24 hours to be received in your email account. CartKrazy guarantees delivery within 1 hour. There are only a few online e-Gift Card sites that offer electronic delivery of e-Gift cards. To my knowledge none guarantee delivery within 1 hour. Of course I could be mistaken because I have only purchased from a couple. So far I am happy with the service offered by Cartkrazy. I never want to go back to paying face value for e-Gift Cards because of the large number of e-books that I purchase for my nook. |

If I buy a gift card from Raise I can usually get more than a 4% discount for B&N and I get an additional 1% on the transaction from ebates. In addition, it's a real company with a real website that mails out physical gift cards in a timely fashion so I'm pretty sure they're not going out of business any time soon.
The site you pointed to, only sells e-gift cards and only has B&N $25 cards in stock for $24. The site is tacky and poorly designed with cheesy ads all over it. I suspect they are trying to draw you into the site with the lure of "cheap" e-giftcards and expect to make money on the ads. I could easily be wrong, but I do know I would never spend money at this site when there are more reputable ones around, with mature web design, ebates and bigger discounts. Call me nasty and cynical but I have a sneaking suspicion you are affiliated with the site. |

Somewhere I saw a way to quote multiple posts, but I can't seem to find it and I don't want to bother with doing a search for it right now. I want to reference the last three posts on this thread.
Freewdle, you are much more knowledgeable about the gift card sites than I. I'm still glad that I posted, though, because it was an opportunity for you, Marcy, and possibly others in the future (hint, hint) to share some good information about gift card sites. Thanks to both of you. Marcy, I doubt that free wdle is affiliated with the site (to freewdle: since you are new, you may not have noticed that this thread is not for "self-promotion." There is another thread where you can promote yourself. So, if you are affiliated with the site, I think that you can post about the site on that thread), for a couple of different reasons. And, I won't call you nasty or cynical. haha |

Another place you can get B&N gift cards is through, believe it or not, MyCokeRewards.com. You enter codes off Coke-brand product caps and boxes, and you get points. Accumulate these points for a while and you can get a $20 B&N gift card.
They also have another site for "digital rewards" which has a somewhat limited selection of e-books and audiobooks, but the ones they offer are pretty mainstream. Oh, and before anyone wants to say something along the lines of having to drown their kids in sugar to get these rewards (I see it everywhere this stuff is mentioned) you can get points off Dasani packs, Powerade and Powerade Zero, and most of the diet forms of the drinks. It isn't just Coke itself. skinmaan |

Just click on the little icon to the right of the Quote button on each post you want to reply to, and click the Quote button for the very last one and you'll go to the reply form with all of them quoted for you. It's not very obvious, I had to hunt to find it the first time.

Marcy "I have a sneaking suspicion you are affiliated with the site". Nothing could be further from the truth. I did a search for e-gift cards that I could receive within minutes of making a purchase. I agree there are ads running on the site and the design is by no means something to rave about. I am impatient so I do not have time to wait for a physical gift card to be mailed out to me. I just thought I would share this site with others who wish to receive their e-gift cards within minutes. My motto is go with whatever floats your boat. Have a great day fellow Nook owners.

One hour certainly beats 24 hours, but I wonder if Raise is not saying "24 hours" just to cover themselves in case there is some problem in which it takes an unusually long time to send the egift card and that they usually send the card much more promptly than that. One of these days I'll probably buy one or more to find out. I feel sure that most, if not all, of the other discount gift card sites also have egift cards for at least some of the merchants. I just wanted to share that little bit of information that I found out for you and others who are following the thread. I don't care whether or not anyone buys egift cards or, if they do, who they buy them from. Like you, my motto is "go with whatever floats your boat." BTW--this is off topic, but I'll be brief. I noticed that Hastings (http://www.gohastings.com) has a large number of free ebooks. Most, if not all, however, are probably in the ePub format. I'll post this under the proper thread when I get a chance. |

I just found out that the Viggle app, used to collect points by watching TV shows or listening to music, offers B&N gift cards at the rate of $5 per 15K points. I currently have just over 90K points, and there are some indie ebooks I've got marked to buy as Nook books because Kobo doesn't carry 'em and I don't want to convert 'em from Kindle format. A couple of $5 cards will take care of that right quick!
Viggle's not exactly a fast way to get points, though. Watching TV gets you a point per minute (you "check in" once and it assumes you watch 'till the end or until you check in to a different show), and you can click to play ads that are usually 5 points each for a 15 or 30 second spot...although sometimes they give you a 100 or 175 point ad. They used to only offer one or two ads at check-in, but lately I've been able to get a string of about 20-25 if I stay on it. (Mostly repeats, but I just mute the volume anyway.) Listening to music is 25 points/song, at a max of 20 songs/day, but you can only ever check in with each version of a song once. All the same, if you watch any TV at all, there's no harm in building up points while doing so. One other point: Viggle's not a content provider. You use it by turning on your TV or stereo, hitting a button on the app, and letting the app listen to the content to recognize it. And yes, you can do other things with your device while checked in - just not while playing ads. It also works with time-shifted and On Demand content, at least within a reasonable period of time. I'm not trying to sell anyone on Viggle - but it's free and gives me points for stuff I'd do anyway. No complaints here! ![]() ETA: The 20 songs/day limit has apparently been lifted, or at least raised. Last edited by Rev. Bob; 04-22-2014 at 04:01 AM. |
