Wireless Device Connection no longer working

After CC updated, I can no longer get my tablet to connect to Calibre. I found another thread on this forum (https://www.mobileread.com/forums/sho...d.php?t=235803) and followed the suggestions there. When I ping from the laptop, I get no errors. When I pinged from the tablet, I have a message that says "3 packets transmitted, 0 received." I have no idea what to do next. The only thing that's changed recently (other than the CC update) is a new network name and password because the cable company had to fix a connection issue.

Any ideas on what I should be checking?

EDIT

I don't know if this helps, but the error message I get from the tablet just says "general -- unrecognized error."

The message from Calibre is:

calibre, version 1.28.0
ERROR: Error: Error communicating with device

Device responded with incorrect information

Yes, it's connected. I have no internet problems when I'm on the laptop. I didn't notice anything weird until I tried to add books to calibre companion.

Are you on the same network as your laptop? (you might need to login to the routers status screen)

I wonder if you DHCP (connection) lease expired and and a NEW IP was assigned to one of the devices.

Yeah, the same network name shows on my tablet and my laptop.

I double checked the settings in CC and Calibre and nothing has changed regarding the IP addresses.

@jstabe: please send me both a CC and calibre debug log as described in the FAQ post https://www.mobileread.com/forums/sho...7&postcount=10. Send them to cc_debug_logs at charles dot haleys dot org.

I hadn't seen this post yet, so when I had some free time this morning, I cleared CC's cache and essentially started over. It connects fine now. I did notice that before I had to put Calibre's IP address into CC. Now the IP section of CC says Automatic and it connects.
