16gb not working in Glo. Kobo Help useless
I bought a 16gb Sandisk to use in my Glo, but although it works fine in every other device it won't work properly in the Glo. I've tried formatting it exfat, using SDformatter, etc. but nothing works. Sometimes the Glo recognises the card but then most of the books on it won't show up, other times it's not recognised at all.
I contacted Kobo and they emailed back to suggest that the card wasn't working. The card is working. Nothing wrong with the card. Anybody have any idea if there is a way to format the SD to get it to work properly in the Glo? Thanks. |

Have you tried FAT32 format?

I've got a few microSD cards that my Touch just doesn't like. Just like you, sometimes the device recognizes a card, sometimes not, and when it does recognize one of the cards the subsequent behaviour is odd. There's no rhyme or reason to which cards work and which cards don't. The cards that fail in my touch all work in other devices fine. When I telnet into my Kobo and check the kernel log with dmesg I can see the errors with the cards that don't work, so I know it's not just a software glitch but something lower down with the kernel or hardware.

Someone has suggested removing and re-inserting the card with the device powered up if it has failed to be recognized. Might be worth a try. Better yet, why not use the card internally and skip the drama until Kobo gets done putzing around with SDHC issues?

I had an SD problem with my Aura HD and using the SD formatter mentioned in this thread solved the issue...
