12 free Grove Atlantic books at NoiseTrade

I just got an email about this from NoiseTrade: Grove Atlantic has made 12 of their books free to download (you can leave a tip if you want, but it's optional). EPUB format!

Please note, from their FAQ:

NoiseTrade Books is a platform designed to help authors & publishers build their audiences by distributing free eBooks & audiobooks in exchange for reader data (email & postal code).

This appears to be a good deal, if the exchange is to one's liking.

They also appear to have a daily limit of 10 ebooks being able to be downloaded.

A word of caution. I went to the pages for two or three of the books and each one of the pages had a prominent green rectangular box on the top right hand side that said "start download." This is an advertisement. Furthermore, my anti-malware program (malwarebytes) identifies the program that you would be downloading (InstallConverter_TSV14CUOY.exe) as malware. You don't want to install this!

Also, I tried putting in a tip of $0 for a book or two, but the Site wouldn't allow it. The minimum that I could get it to accept was $1. So, unless I missed something, the "free" books will require you to "donate" at least $1 each. Of course, some of you may find one or more of the books worth a dollar or more and so that won't be a problem to you.

What you want to click is the red button above the book's cover (top left) that says "Download Ebook". It gives a popup in the same window that gives you the option to download for free (top option) or download with a tip (bottom option).
I was able to do the free one more than once without any issues and what downloaded was the correct epub.

The site is INCREDIBLY slow. How long did it take to get the email with the download information?

Edit: Shortly after posting this, the site sped up and I got the download code.

The site has been swamped all day. Anytime it times out, it seems to count that as one of your codes for the day, too. I gave them a few hours and tried again (despite no codes for the day, got an "over limit" msg and had to switch to a backup email).

Once I managed to get the process to accept my email, tho, I got the download links in a few seconds each time (and the books downloaded quickly, as well).

I downloaded a few. One of the links didn't open a download box. Reentering the info resulted in a working link.

I had the exact same experience... never got the links for the first couple of tries, but they counted against me, so I used another email.
