Calibre not detecting my device
Hi, hope I'm doing this right. I have 3 devices, 2 of them are recognize and I have no problem adding ebooks but I got my son a Nextbook 7P12 but Calibre doesn't recognize it. I have my speakers plugged into a USB port and the Nextbook when I ran the debug.

Windows is failing to get the free space on your device, so
calibre cannot connect to it. This is usually caused by hardware errors. You can try: 1) Trying a different USB port/cable. 2) Rebooting your device and your computer 3) Resetting your device If none of these work, you can use the 'Connect to Folder' function in calibre to connect to your device. Click the Connect/share button on the calibre toolbar and select the "Connect to folder" option. Then choose the folder on your device that you want calibre to connect to. |

thank you for your reply
I had to reset the device, still not recognizing it but on my computer it now shows the Next7P12 being connected so I'm having to choose your last option with the file which goes over my head but here is what I did. I clicked on the connect to a file, searched in Computer and clicked on the Next7P12 link then click on the same name in the list that had all the files listed. I added the book to device but when I click on the app Play Books on the tablet the only books listed are the 3 that came with the device. I then went back to Calibre and clicked on Device then Show Books in the main memory of the device and it shows the book I added so I'm confused on why I can't find it on the device. |

1)is those 3 that are in the manufacturers Protected (proprietary) storage. Calibre can't get at those The should be some configuration or default location for 'Personal type Documents' of the book type. If the former, adjust the link to where you put the books if the latter, adjust the device driver or save folder to put the books in their place |

I am guessing yours is an android device just download a free ebook readers app like coolreader or fbreaderj that should allow you to open any books you sent. |

thank you, I'll try both of those ideas. I just noticed Calibre did an upgrade so I'm hoping that might fix my problem too.
