Do you bring a charger with you when traveling?

Just curios about this ...

Do you guys bring a charger for your Kindle Touch/Paperwhite when traveling, especially Internationally?

I'm about to travel outside of USA, Christmas trip, and I like to "travel light". The less worried about cables and electronic stuff, the better for me. But at the same time, keeping my Kindle alive during such a long trip is key for me.

So do you rely on the 1, 2 or 3 weeks of battery or not?

I nearly got burned on this. The number of chargers and gadgets I travel with bugs me, so I try to keep it to a minimum. I was traveling for a week and I thought I'd be fine, since the kindle gets several weeks on a charge. Well, I got that dreaded bug where the light doesn't turn off and I didn't know about it since I use a cover. It nearly ran down the battery. I got the low battery warning on the flight home, but it didn't actually die. (Confession: this is because I spent much of the flight watching Real Housewives on the tiny TV.)

Now I think I would carry the USB cord, just to be safe. I already take my laptop anyway.

PS My daughter likes to play games on my iphone for most of the flight. That can run the battery down fast, and goodness knows I need my phone at the end of the flight. I have discovered I can use my laptop as a giant battery, on the plane, and recharge my phone mid-flight!

Given that I need to travel with a USB charger anyway for things like my phone, I have it with me as a matter of course. However, I certainly wouldn't need to charge my Kindle on a 1 week trip; I may need to towards the end of a 2 week trip.

Has anyone used this one? I ordered it from Amazon few days ago, prior my trip to Colombia. It should be delivered today.

It's for the PsVita, but surprisingly to me, it is good enough to charge most cellphones and electronics, including Kindle Fire.

My answer is "other" -- my travel phone charger will also charge my Kindle, so I use that if I need to charge.

Yes, that was my point, too. Many - most perhaps, even - will already travel with a USB charger for other reasons.

I think that the A/C iPhone adapter (I am not talking about the cable) has a USB output, but I have never charged my Kindle PW that way.

Yes, I charge my Kindle from my iPad/iPhone wall charger. Works absolutely fine.

It'll work; and it's very small. Pretty much any cellphone power adapter will work.

Yup, the battery is 3315 mAh, so it should be enough, especially for an ereader. Otherwise I would also recommend this one, which has almost twice the battery juice and doesn't cost much more.

I bring the charger. But I need the cable anyway, because it's one I can use with my camera to download to the laptop if I want. It can charge a couple of items. If you forget even once to turn off WIFI and it searches for a signal, your kindle could lose a lot of battery power...it's happened to me! And I swear I turn the wifi off every time!

I have so many battery charged gadgets, I don't even leave the house with out a charger.
E-reader, tablet, ipod, phone, e-cigarettes, camera, etc. If the trip is off the grid I will even bring a solar charger with me to keep everything charged.
