Oasis Protection
So, I just held an Oasis for the first time and I love it. My Voyage battery is dying, so it’s time to upgrade. However, it seems that if you put the case on the Oasis, you either have to give up the handhold (which is a huge selling point for me) or have the cover of the case just dangling there while you read.
I am curious, are there good solutions to protect the Oasis that don’t change the design of the Oasis. Or, is the quality good enough that I won’t scratch the screen when it gets tossed in my backpack everyday. I’ve always had a cover, but this design doesn’t seem to really want one. Thoughts from those that know? |

After experimenting with various cases for my Oasis, including the official Amazon water-safe fabric cover, I ended up preferring to read the Oasis without any cover. Because the back is slippery and I have small hands, I attached this phone grip handle, which allows me to read comfortably with one hand even when I'm lying down and holding the Oasis somewhat above me. I bought the grey colored base, which blends nicely into the metal back of the Oasis.
When I'm not reading, my Oasis lives in a sleeve case. I would never throw it into a bag unprotected! |

A sleeve! Great idea! Reviews seem to say avoid ones with magnets because it turns the kindle on. Have you had that issue?

Hi, I got something similar to this one https://www.ebay.com/i/283684559901 and it works really well, 'cause the cover gets attached to the back by magnets and mine is really strong. I can give you the link but I bought mine in Mexico, so no clue if you can find it exactly the same in the states.
Good luck!! |

I'm happy this works for you. The OP needs to be aware, however, that approx. 11% of people using this device it has not worked due to various issues. I would urge the OP to at least look over those negative reviews - AND THE POSITIVE REVIEWS, ALSO - in order to make an informed decision that best suits his/her needs. |

I would highly say not to get this phone grip. It's going to make holding the Oasis even worse. As for a sleeve, a sleeve is not all that good when putting your Oasis in a bag.

Sorry, I meant the LoveHandle device. Again, as mentioned, I'm very happy this is working for you. |

I have that same lovehandle on my Oasis3 and it has made a huge difference for me in holding it. I put the large one on though. 4 inch tablet size. Not the smaller phone size. I can still enjoy the ergonomics of the device and my wrists are getting a break. But, I don't take it along anywhere. It only gets read at home. I just do not want to read with a cover, it gets too heavy for me.
I wish I had found that lovehandle sooner when I had the Oasis2. I prefer a 6 inch size reader due to weight, but alas, none have buttons anymore. I can put 4 fingers in it if I want and it rests just where i need it for my thumb to be on the button. Usually 3 are in it though. I have small hands so grabbing these things is always a struggle. Best thing I ever got for any of my kindles. |
