Can you designate default font sizes?

The default font size is too small and I always have to make it a lot bigger every time I open the file.

One way is to use CSS, if the class font sizes are relative rather than absolute, is to define the body font-size.

Edit ==> Preferences ==> Appearance will let you change the font size, both in code view and in book view.

This assumes you don't want to actually change the font size for the book itself, for which you would use css.
The Preferences just let you set a default "to display within Sigil".

Also, if there is a specified font size in your css, this will override the Book View setting; Sigil will instead use whatever font size your ebook has.

There is a slider in the lower right corner of Sigil that does this too. I find 100% too small for me. I often have it set at 130% for my screen.

As was said, this does NOT control how it will be displayed in a reader, just in Sigil. Also, you may notice that the text will appear bold as you increase in size. This is not a defect in your e-book, just a reflection of how the underlying display software works when you increase the size shown on your display.
