simple search?

Hi,
I'm trying to search for a word in a book's title.
FWIW, I'm searching for the word "Roosevelt".
In Calibre, when I search for "roosevelt", I get 59 books, when I search for "title:roosevelt", I get 13.
In Calibre Companion, when I do either of these searches, I get "Search "Rosevelt" matched 0 books or "Search "title:Rosevelt" matched 0 books".
I know the books are there as I can search by author and select read, and that works - but it seems a bit silly to search in Calibre so see what I need to search for in Calibre Companion.
What am I missing?
Thanks!

BTW, I'm running android 4.4.2, CyanogenMod, (so phone is rooted), and my library is on /storage/sdcard1. I connected as a device and "pushed" everything from Calibre. I've the same problem with both Dalvik and ART (android runtime engines).

Your examples mispelled the name as "Rosevelt" instead of "Roosevelt".

In any event, searching for "the" and "title:the" works for me. Does it work for you?

Search for "the" and "title:the" work fine (or at least seem to, didn't bother to figure if the number of returned matches was right).
However searching for "roosevelt" or "title:roosevelt" (or for that matter searching for rosevelt - sorry about getting it wrong here) gets me "matched 0 books".

I get 13 when searching in Calibre; Oh, and searching for title:rosevelt gets me one (looks like I mis-entered a title)

When I search for "morris" (I have his TR trilogy), I get those, plus some others.

It really sounds as if the books are not in CC's library. Can you see one of the books found by calibre in CC, searching for it by hand (e.g., using group by title or author)?

If at least one book is there then send me a CC debug log. Send it only to the charles dot haleys dot org address. There is no reason to send it to the multipie address.

Also, are you saying that "title:rosevelt" found a book but "rosevelt" didn't? I assume you aren't really quoting the search strings.

No, sorry; I'm saying that "Roosevelt" and "title:Roosevelt" (and "roosevelt" and "title:roosevelt") find nothing - but they all work on Calibre.
And... searching for "roosev" and "title:roosev" work fine - so I tried adding an 'elt' - and it worked. What the...?
I'd say my issue had been letting the system complete the word "Roosevelt" - only I only did that when testing the search with upper case, didn't let it replace when testing all lower case.
Now going though Calibre looking for unusual words and searching - and they work.
I... guess we're done here?

Let me know if it stops working again, at which point we can go the debug log route.

Speaking as a developer, I wish it was reproducible. As a user, I'm happy it's working. :-)
