My Clippings

What would happen if I deleted the document called My Clippings?

You'd get a new one. That would happen.

It will reappear when you make your next clipping, bookmark, highlight etc. The ones you already have in the books on your kindle will remain as they are saved in each book in the .mpb file.

Still, some people like to back up the file before deleting it because it's a convenient way to have a file with everything listed together on it.

I think that too many people don't know they can get their highlights and notes at kindle.amazon.com.

You 'should' back up and delete it periodically if you annotate a lot. My Clippings has to be -re-indexed each time you make a change, and unless they have optimized how that has done recently (i.e. with PW), it takes longer as the file gets bigger, sucking cpu cycles each time you add a note.
