Speed in Transfer

Loading my new x-mas T1 with audio, pictures and books is my new hobby. While individual books go fast, I just did a 3 gb load and it took inordinately long (a full hour TV show). Far longer than it takes to load the same into my i-pod or phone.

I used both USB and WiFi. I also tried Calibre, Sony Reader, DropBox and good old Windows drop and drag. No real difference.

I think the T1 is processing the data as it comes over in some way. Not that this is a big issue, as I can't see this kind of volume in the future, BUT... is there anyway to speed this up?
