borders around text in mobi conversion
When I convert some epub books to mobi I get triple line borders around all of the pages of text. The borders are not in the epub originals. How do I eliminate the borders?

Use Tweak epub, and look at the source code. It is possible that a border is being specified that is not being rendered in the EPUB viewer, but translates to Mobi.

I am not proficient in the inner workings of Calibre so do not understand the "Tweak epub" process.
Most epub conversion to mobi are fine except that 4 or 5 are converted to the Kindle 3 with a border around the text and several words missing at the bottom of some text blocks - (they do not transfer to the text block on the next page). The books read OK in Adobe Digital Editions, the Mobipocket reader and the Calibre reader. I can still get the gist of the books, even with the text block problem, but thought there may be a simple fix for the problem. |

The borders will be coming from something in the file that is input into the conversion. It will be almost impossible to guess what that is. That was why the tweak ePub route was suggested as the way to try and examine the contents of the source file to attempt to work out what that might be.

Or load the ePub into Sigil and see where the problem might be,

They sound like tables, but as Jon advises, you need to look at the source and see.
