Hi
I have downloaded some books a while ago for my Sony ebook reader. Now my Mum wants the same books on her Kindle. Do I just change the format from epub to mobi? Is that all I do? Or if I do this will my books be all muddled up next time I sync my Sony? Hope I'm making sense |

You have to 'convert' them to Mobi, after that all converted books have epub and mobi s available file formats. Nothing else changes within the library, so you won't even notice it, except that you library takes a bit more hard drive space than before.
Then connect the Kindle and send the books to the device. If you send the books to the kindle before converting them, calibre asks you if you want to convert them before sending. That is an alternative way... |

Hi Opitzs
Think I have done it wrong. Once the book is converted I have books in both formats epub and mobi so I have been deleting the epub format . Am I wrong? lol |

![]() You can keep 1 of every format if you have the disk space, with no problems. So it is your choice. |

![]() Your library is a handy backup ![]() 2Terabyte (internal) drives are about $100 around here. Why worry about space ![]() |

You can copy the epub files from your reader back to the library...
For the best result: - go to preferences | Adding Books - check 'Automerge added books...' - connect your reader - in calibre copy the files from your reader to your library That way it should merge the titles without creating duplicate entries. |
