New Member with question
I'm fairly new to ebook conversions and previously had difficulty getting my books to validate. Once I started creating the linked TOC I've had no problems with validation. But today I have a book that's failed the validation. The reasons supplied are these:
ERROR: UTP_ForKindle.doc: corrupted ZIP header ERROR: UTP_ForKindle.doc: I/O error: error in opening zip file Check finished with warnings or errors! Does anyone know what I'm doing wrong? Nadene Carter |

Well, dang it! It's been a while since I did this and I forgot the step where you created the HTML file and then create and upload the zip file.
Thanks! Nadene |

At first, I posted this on an inactive thread:
I'm hoping that there is someone here that would be willing to help me figure out why I'm having issues with my file converter. I am new to using dos command prompts, so obviously I have very little clue. I start by using PDF2LRF: C:\PDF2LRF>pdf2lrf -i FILENAME.pdf -o FILENAME.zip I am confused as to why it shows duplicate pages being converted. But my main question at this point is found in the next step of conversion using PNG2PDF: C:\PNG2PDF>png2pdf FILENAME.zip The results show me an error on every page, telling me that there are invalid parameters. I basically know what parameters are, but have no clue how they really relate to the present situation or how to fix the issue. Can someone please help me without making me feel stupid? Thx, mikewdarrow |

I think this should be a new thread, but fine.
I am confused in what you are trying to do, but I think you want to create a mobi file for the Kindle. From the program names you use I think you are doing the following: 1. Convert a PDF to LRF 2. Convert PNG's to PDF First of all remember that conversion of PDF is cumbersome and the results are usually not as desired. You convert to LRF, but saves the file with a zip extension. A LRF is not a zip. Then you apparently want to convert the LRF file (with the wrong extension) to a PDF again. Here you want the program to interpret the LRF file as PNG (images), which is something totally different. I don't know which errors you got, but I would be amazed if this would work. Anyway, if a Kindle mobi file is required, there are other methods on this forum. |

Thank you for your quick response and sorry for the dumb questions. I found an explanation on "the simplest way to convert PDF to Kindle Mobi" and the writer kept referring to this forum. I am regretful as to his lack of understanding, but I am glad he referred me to this forum. Thank you for your help.
